The Tuskegee Airmen were more than pioneers in military history. They sought to change America's view of the "colored" race. They met the obstacles presented by the Air Force, World War II enemies and the Jim Crow Laws of southern United States head-on. These photographs are part of a continuing series that I began in 1996.
